Aleksander Fokin

Graduated from the Penza Art College, Penza, Russia, 1981. Graduated from the Vera Mukhina Leningrad Higher School of Industrial Art (currently the St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry of A.L. Stieglitz).

The chief designer for the glass factory in Nikolsk, Russia, 1987–1997. Teacher of drawing and painting at Penza Art College, 2003–2005. Since 2005 he has been working as an independent artist. Member of the Russian Academy of Arts since 1992. Initiator and organizer of the glass symposium in Nikolsk.

He was awarded the Silver Medal, 2004, the Bronze Medal, 2009 and the Gold Medal, 2012
by the Russian Academy of Arts, and the title of the Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, 2007. An Honorary Citizen of Nikolsk.

He has participated in about 30 individual and over 100 group exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

His works are exhibited in museums and private collections around the world.
