Lachezar Dochev

Graduated from the Latvian Academy of Arts (presently Art Academy of Latvia), Riga, Latvia, Department of Glass Art, 1999.

 

He was granted scholarships by the Pilchuck Glass School, WA, USA, 2003 and the North Lands Creative Glass Center, Lybster, Scotland, 2004.

 

In 2004 he was teaching assist­ant at the Pilchuck Glass School where he acted as an instructor and also held classes at the Rich­mond School of Art, Lon­don, 2005.

 

He has received a number of awards for his art in international glass art competitions, including the Best Young Art­ist Award at the Fifth Inter­na­tion­al Glass Art Com­pe­ti­tion,
Rud­ers­berg, Ger­ma­ny, 2003 and the Weru Best Gla­zier Prize at the sixth edi­tion of the same inter­na­tion­al com­pe­ti­tion, 2005.

 

He has par­tic­i­pa­ted in over 17 exhibitions and glass festivals in Ger­ma­ny, Lat­via, France,
the UK, Esto­nia, Japan, Aus­tria and Den­mark, such as the International Glass Exhibition Kanazawa, Kanazawa, Japan, 2007 and the European Glass Context 2008, 2012, Bornholm, Denmark.

 

He organized the first International Glass Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria, 2010.

 

His works are on display in museums and in private collections in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and USA.

 

He is interested in music and photography.
