Martin Muranica

Graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts, Bratislava, Slovakia, 1999. Bachelor's degree from the Department of Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, 2003. Studied at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, 2004–2006. Graduated from the Ceramics and Glass Department of the E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design, Wrocław, Poland, 2007.

He has received several awards, including the Zepter International Design Award, Artzept Cruet Set, Paris, France, 2005, and the 1st place Award of Gallery NOVA, Bratislava, 2009.

With Marta Maria Miara, Eliza Rajsz, Mariusz Woliński, and Wojciech Stanisław Skowronek, he co-founded the artistic group Gruppa Ćmielowska (Ćmielów Gruppa), 2007.

He has participated in 3 individual exhibitions: Light of Underground, Galeria Gardzienice, Lublin, Poland, 2005; Forest, the Glass and Ceramics Gallery of the BWA Wrocław – Gallery of Contemporary Art, Wrocław, 2008; Glass, Gallery NOVA, Bratislava, 2008; and in several collective exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad, including: the International Sculpture Biennale of Carrara, Carrara, Italy, 2004, 2006 and 2008; Glass, Gallery NOVA, Bratislava, 2008; the European Glass Context 2008, Bornholms Kunstmuseum, Bornholm, Denmark; and Connections 2009, Galerie Mánes, Prague, the Czech Republic, 2009.
