Kazushi Nakada

Graduated from the Tokyo Glass Art Institute, Kawasaki, Japan, 1990. Graduated from the Ceramics and Glass Department, the Royal College of Art, London, Great Britain, 1994.

Senior Lecturer from 2005 at Aalto, School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Helsinki, Finland.  

 

Visiting professor at the Moholy Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest Hungary, 2010 -2011.

He has been granted several honors and awards, including: an Honorable Mention, Hakone Art Forest, Hakone, Japan, 1991 and Suomen Kulttuurirahasto, Project Helsinki, Finland, 2003.

He has participated in more than 24 both individual and joint exhibitions, including: the International Exhibition of Glass Kanazawa 2001, Kanazawa, Japan; the Infinity exhibition
at the Finnish Glass Museum, Riihimäki, Finland, 2004; Glass in the World Today, Franchetti Palace, Venice, Italy, 2004; Global Art Glass Triennial, Castle Borgholm, Sweden 2005, the Coburg Glass Prize 2006 exhibition, featuring selected artists, Coburg, Germany, 2006 and Glass Mad. 25 Years with Contemporary Glass, the Glass Museum in Ebeltoft, Glasmusset Ebeltoft, Denmark, 2011.

His art is included in the collections of the Finnish Glass Museum, Riihimäki, Finland; the Glass Museum in Ebeltoft, Glasmuseet Ebeltoft, Denmark and  the National Museum of Art, Lviv, Ukraine.
