Artūras Rimkevičius

Graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Art Faculty, Department of Glass (BA), Kaunas, Lithuania ,1984, and from the Vytautas Magnus University, Art Criticism Department (MA), Kaunas, 1999.
Director of the glass and stained-glass studio Dainair Artūras since 1995.
Has over 30 years of experience with pedagogical work, teaching glass and ceramic plastic. Lecturer at the Kaunas University of Applied Sciences since 1999.
Participated in 19 solo exhibitions and in 99 group exhibitions in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Estonia, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Italy.
Works in Lithuanian museum collections: Museum of Applied Art and Design, Vilnius; M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, Kaunas.
Created monumental stained-glass artworks in Lithuania, Russia, the Netherlands, Sweden, Latvia, Finland, and Norway. His work has been included in the catalogue “Who’s Who in Contemporary Glass Art”, 1993.
Content-wise, he seeks balance between rationality, emotion, and humour in his art.
He speaks excellent Polish.
